The National Association of State Park Directors (NASPD) announces the launch of its fourth annual America’s State Parks 2020 Photo Contest. The two-month contest is accepting photo submissions now through October 31, 2020 and provides an opportunity for U.S. residents 18 and over to share stories through their photography.

RVers and other participants that enter the photo contest will have the opportunity to choose between the following five categories: Activities, Wildlife, Family & Friends, Camping, and Scenic & Seasons. Qualifying submissions will be judged based on originality, artistic composition, technical quality, and whether or not the photograph showcases the best of America’s State Parks camping and outdoor activities.

“America’s state parks have been welcoming people across the country in record numbers to recreate responsibly during these uncertain times. Our parks are a safe local getaway to the daily stresses and provide diverse landscapes for endless recreational activities that are vital to our health,” said Lewis Ledford, Executive Director at the National Association of State Park Directors. “NASPD is pleased to be continuing our annual photo contest to share the love for our parks and we look forward to receiving this year’s submissions.”

One grand prize winner will receive a package from Igloo Coolers, valued at $3,317.88, including the Igloo Everything-You-Need Prize Pack and one Canon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR camera. Five honorable mention category prize packages will include the Igloo Coolers Everything-You-Need Prize Pack (valued at $618.88), a $500 REI gift card from ReserveAmerica.com, Outdoor Photography Guide annual membership, $50 CloudLine gift certificate, National Geographic Guide to State Parks of the United States 5th Edition book, and a backpack from Klymit.

NASPD engaged its trusted partner, Aspira®, to manage the operations and promotion for the contest. Aspira, the leading provider of technology and marketing services to park and conservation agencies across North America, will utilize its popular online outdoors marketplace, ReserveAmerica.com, to increase awareness of America’s State Parks photo contest.

“Aspira is excited to sponsor and administer the photo contest for the fourth year in a row,” said Mark Trivette, Chief Executive Officer at Aspira. “We appreciate our State Parks that have been working hard to provide healthy and safe environments for the public to recreate in the outdoors. The photo contest is a great forum for communities to share these positive experiences and we are eager to see everyone’s inspiring photos.”

State park visitors are encouraged to enter the official State Parks 2020 Photo Contest at StateParksPhotoContest.org. The winners will be announced at the virtual NASPD Annual Conference in December.
